Fed Cup captain Anne Keothavong and former World No. 9 Dominique Monami to join Brodies Invitational line-up

Team GB Fed Cup captain, Anne Keothavong and former World No.9, Dominique Monami are the latest tennis stars to join the line-up for the Brodies Invitational in June.

Tennis fans will be treated to a special mixed-doubles exhibition match on Thursday 13 June at the Gleneagles Arena, where Anne Keothavong will pair up with Tim Henman to take on Dominique Monami and Henri Leconte.

Anne Keothavong’s Team GB played Kazakhstan this weekend claiming a 3-1 victory and securing a return to the World Group level of the Fed Cup for the first time since 1993. During her career she won 20 singles and eight doubles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit, reaching a career-high singles ranking of World No. 48 in February 2009.

Commenting on her appearance at the Brodies Invitational, Anne said: “This event is a great opportunity to bring world class tennis to fans of the sport, as well as to those who have had less exposure to it. I’m really looking forward to taking to the court in front of a Scottish audience. The line-up for the three days is world-class and will certainly deliver exciting and entertaining tennis.”

Dominique Monami, former Belgian Fed Cup captain, won a total of four WTA singles titles and reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 9 in October 1998. She added: “That we are able to take time out of our schedules and play at the Brodies Invitational is very exciting. This is the first time that mixed doubles has been part of the programme so I am sure it will be a very competitive match.”

The event is the only Scottish fixture on the prestigious ATP Champions Tour and takes place from the 13 – 15 June at the Gleneagles Arena.  In addition to the exhibition mixed doubles, the Thursday evening fixtures will include a masterclass from Scotland’s favourite tennis mum and coach, Judy Murray and some of the country’s most promising junior players, as well as ATP Champions Tour Tennis featuring former British No. 1 Tim Henman, former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero, former World No. 4 and 2016 Brodies Invitational Champion, Thomas Enqvist and former World No. 5 Henri Leconte.

Fed Cup coach, Colin Fleming will also take to the court and returning favourite Xavier Malisse has also confirmed that he will take part in this year’s event.

Brodies’ managing partner, Nick Scott, said: “This year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet. By responding to the demand of those who have been to the event previously we have been able to add an extra evening of tennis which has allowed us to include new fixtures. We’re delighted that Anne and Dominique have been able to take the time out of their schedules to play in what is sure to be a well contested mixed doubles match.”

The Brodies Invitational will this year support the Judy Murray Foundation as its charity partner. Tickets can be purchased online.
